Adult Gemology Detective

Want to be a Gemology Detective? Join us and spend an evening surrounded by the earth’s glittering gems. We’ll take time to explore the world of gemology using gemological testing equipment such as a refractometer, microscope, Chelsea filters, polariscopes, and more, to learn how we, as Gemologists, identify and classify gemological minerals. We’ll have world class gems of many different varieties for you to see, touch, try on, and test.

Logan Cutshall, Graduate Gemologist and Geologist, and Ed Cutshall, Graduate Gemologist and Master Jeweler, will be there to answer questions, and demonstrate the steps to identifying minerals. They’ll be discussing the formation, identification, and valuation of common and uncommon stones.

Claire Cutshall, Lapidarist, will discuss and demonstrate the art and craft of faceting gemstones and help anyone who would like to trying their hand at faceting.

A $15 per person/$25 per couple fee insures that we don’t sell out for people who are not sure they will be able to make it, as well as allowing us to provide everyone with some gemological equipment and gifts to take home. Please purchase the singles pass for an individual and a couples pass to attend with your partner or friend!

Lite bites and beverages will be served; we look forward to meeting you!
